Stephen O´Mullane from Ireland is the Project Team Leader. Stephen has spent the last 20 years working with and managing EU funded SME Development and SME Policy Support projects in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Previous to this he worked for 10 years at senior management level in the SME sector in Ireland and in the Middle East. In 1995 he established his own very successful business delivering consultancy services to Irish food processing SMEs in the areas of Quality Management Systems and EU Health & Safely directives and corresponding Irish legislation. Educated at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, he comes from a Food Science and Technology background originally with more recent studies focusing on Political Sciences. He holds a Master’s Degree in Government & Public Policy.
Juergen Mendritzki, German, Key Expert Marketing, is a senior expert in private sector development, in particular SME support with focus on marketing, as well as in related Government capacity building and organizational development. He holds Master´s degrees in Economics and Business Administration. Juergen has been working as a management consultant and manager for more than 30 years and gained business experience in 24 industries in more than 30 countries. Throughout his career Juergen managed or participated in international assignments for both private companies and public institutions in Europe and in developing/transitional countries (Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Asia). He had assignments for well-known multinational companies such as Philip Morris, Siemens, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey as well as for international organisations such as EU, UN, World Bank and ADB. Juergen set up and managed Government agencies in Germany and abroad (SME support, Export & Investment promotion) and held positions as CEO and Head of Sales and Marketing of private companies with up to 2000 staff. He was also involved in business start-ups as co-founder, business angel and Management Board member. His most recent assignment was a marketing and brand development program for SMEs in Asia.
Fernando Fernández Gómez, Spanish, Key Expert Quality Management, is a senior auditor and consultant, in particular for SME support with focus on quality and environmental management. He is an industrial engineer. Fernando has been working as a management consultant for 17 years and gained business experience in several industrial sectors in more than 15 countries. Fernando participated in international assignments for both private companies and public institutions in Europe, Africa and Asia. Fenando worked on assignments for multinational companies such as Lafarge, Holcim, Enel, Endesa, E.ON, Arcelor-Mittal, small and medium sized enterprises, as well as for the EU. Fernando is staff member in Prysma, a leading Spanish SME consulting company, the main Collaborator of the Certification and Standardization Body AENOR (Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification). His company performs periodical Audits for granting and maintenance of most ISO management systems certifications and Conformity Certifications (CE marking) as well as implement such a systems for private and public sectors companies
