SMEPASS II is co-funded by the European Union under the European Fund for Regional Development. It is a two-year Project with the objective to strengthen the competitiveness of the Croatian SME sector.
The project is structured under three components, namely:
|Component 1:||Awareness raising|
|Component 2:||Advisory services in Marketing/Product Development and Quality Assurance|
|Component 3:||Advisory services in completing applications for EU Structural Funds|
Under Component 1 the Project delivers seminars nation-wide to inform SMEs about the free advisory services available along with eligibility criteria for participation.
Regional seminars are held prior to each Call for Expressions of Interest. Information on the locations and timing of the next round of seminars will be published on this website.
The first Round of seminars was delivered in the period 14th to 28th November 2013 in Dubrovnik, Karlovac, Osijek, Pula, Rijeka, Split, Varaždin, Zadar and Zagreb. The Team conducted a second Round of seminars in eight cities in the period 5th – 15th May 2014. These were delivered in Čakovec, Koprivnica, Slavonski Brod, Vukovar, Split, Zadar, Rijeka and Zagreb.
Under Component 2 a minimum of 150 Croatian SMEs receive support in defending their position on existing markets and/or seeking out new markets, particularly in other EU member states. All eligible Croatian SMEs are given the opportunity to apply for the advisory services in:
- Quality Assurance
- Marketing & Product Development
The selection of enterprises is based on objective criteria as part of a transparent process. Two separate Calls for Expressions of Interest from SMEs were launched in November/December 2013 and April/May 2014. The final Call will be launched in September/October 2014.
The SMEPASS II expert team consists of Croatian and other EU consultants. The experts will come to you and work with you at your premises. They will provide direct one-to-one marketing/product development and quality assurance assistance.
Under Component 3 the Project assisted a number of SMEs to prepare applications and associated project documents for co-financing under EU Structural Funds.
